Camera Operator, Television and Motion Picture operates videotape machines, disk-based file servers, camera control units, studio cameras, video switchers, audio mixers and other equipment used in the broadcast of live and taped television programming. May be expected to maintain a variety of program/transmitter logs. Being a Camera Operator, Television and Motion Picture may require an associate's degree or its equivalent with at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Camera Operator, Television and Motion Picture relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision.     The Fayetteville Woodpeckers are seeking an experienced Camera Operator. This position will operate a wireless or stationary camera for all 66 Woodpeckers home games. An ideal candidate will have knowledge of the game of baseball and experience operating cameras. This is a part-time, seasonal position.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Shoot pregame activities, gameplay footage, in-game promotions, and all postgame events
    • Capture crowd shots and interactions throughout Segra Stadium
    • Performs other duties as assigned

     

    Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Proficient in the shoulder operation of a professional camera, which requires the ability to frame and steady the camera properly as well as handle the weight of the camera effectively
    • Must be able to handle multiple projects and tasks at once in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail
    • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Professionalism
    • Must be reliable and exhibit commitment to meeting both the work schedule and job requirements

     

    Physical Requirements of the Job:

    • Ability to perform physical tasks: bend, squat, kneel, twist, climb up/down flights of stairs, walk on uneven ground
    • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
    • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. on a regular and continuing basis

     

    Work Environment:

    Majority of time will be spent outdoors. Job may require employee to function in a in a high activity and heavily crowded outdoor professional sports venue/environment. Employee may also be exposed to weather of varying degrees for extended periods of time while performing the duties of this job.

     

    Position Type and Expected Hours to Work

    This is a part-time and seasonal position. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be available to work weekdays, weeknights, and weekends during baseball season. Must be available to arrive up to one (1) hour prior to game time.

     

    Travel

    Travel is not expected in this role.
