Camera Operator, Television and Motion Picture operates videotape machines, disk-based file servers, camera control units, studio cameras, video switchers, audio mixers and other equipment used in the broadcast of live and taped television programming. May be expected to maintain a variety of program/transmitter logs. Being a Camera Operator, Television and Motion Picture may require an associate's degree or its equivalent with at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Camera Operator, Television and Motion Picture relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision.     Job Title: Class B Operator

    SUMMARY

    Performs repetitive machine or line assembly operations in the assembly of mechanical assemblies in endgate and other production areas. Complying with safe operating procedures and quality system requirements, the operator is required to maintain a pace consistent with the machine being operated.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Places parts in specified relationship to each other as defined in the work instructions for each specified part.

    Inserts, swages, presses, clips or otherwise fastens parts together within the required standard rate per hour while ensuring product meets all customer and quality system requirements.

    Operates machines, such as shuttle endgate machines, various hand tools, inspection equipment and other production equipment, to perform fitting or fastening operations in endgate and other production areas.

    Comply with safe operating procedures and applicable safety rules including using proper machine guards, knowing the location of control switches, power buttons and emergency stops, inspecting machines before use and using required personal protective equipment.

    Works at different work stations as production needs require.

    Works on line where tasks vary as different model of same article move through the production facility.

    May perform statistical process control function to control process using manual documentation or computer data entry.

    Material handling activities may include but is not limited to the movement of all raw, in-process and finished materials as well as the identification and packaging process of those materials.

    Assist with orientation and training of new employees through the direction of the supervisor.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to maintain a pace consistent with the machine being operated; is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
