NewsChannel 21, the dominant news leader in Central Oregon, has an exciting opportunity within our operations department. We are looking for a Part-time Master Control Operator to join our dynamic Control Room team and help run our award-winning newscasts on Saturdays and Sundays.
Consistently ranked as one of the best places to live in America, Bend, Oregon is a year-round tourist destination with plenty of recreational activities, nearby ski resorts and world-famous breweries.
The Master Control Operator (i.e., you) will be taught how to run all aspects of the control room including running breaks during live sporting events, operating a Wheatstone audio console, controlling graphics for the news, catching satellite-fed programming, and possibly even directing our live newscasts. We’re looking for someone who is attentive to detail, can handle multiple responsibilities, enjoys learning new things, and likes working in a fast-paced but fun and creative environment.
Television is a changing industry, so we would like someone (i.e., you again) to be adaptable to new technologies, tasks and workflows. You should possess basic computer skills and have reliable transportation, which is a must for this opportunity. If you think this is the job for you, then we’d love to meet you (particularly if you enjoy watching sports…while also getting paid to watch sports!). Don’t worry about previous experience - all training will be provided.
