    Location: Hendersonville, North Carolina 
     
    Crossnore Communities for Children seeks a Family Foundations Supervisor for our Hendersonville, NC location. The Family Foundations Supervisor acts as the Team Lead for Crossnore’s Intensive In-Home Team, Family Foundations. This position provides support, supervision, training and development, and oversight to an Intensive In-Home team within the NC Mountain Region. Travel to community agencies and families’ homes will be required. Position will require after-hours on-call support to children and families, as well as to staff within the team, and must live locally to the Hendersonville area.  

    Hiring Range:  $55,000 to $64,500 annually, $3000 SIGN ON BONUS

    JOB INFORMATION 
     
    REPORTS TO: Senior Director of Prevention Services

    STATUS: Exempt/Full time
     
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Education/Experience
    • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a human services or related field.
    • Licensed clinician required (full or associate level LCSW, LCMHC, LMFT).
    • Minimum of at least 2 years experience providing direct services to children and families.
    • Previous experience as a supervisor strongly preferred.
    Experience/Knowledge
    • Commitment to professional development and fidelity requirements of CBT and trauma-responsive evidence-based models for children and families.
    • Knowledge of the NC Child Welfare system and state mental health system is strongly preferred.
    • Strong supervisory skills.  Must have the ability to hold self and others accountable, give feedback related to areas in which staff perform well and areas needing improvement.
    • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment, and maintain client confidentiality.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interface well with others outside the agency, specifically those in the faith-based community.
    • Ability to work adaptively and demonstrate flexibility in a variety of settings.
    • Must be flexible and willing to work with children and families of all ages, races, nationalities, sexual orientations, gender identities, disabilities, and backgrounds.
    • Experience and skills in administrative functions and staff development, including organization and monitoring skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to be highly organized and detail oriented.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of a variety of computer software programs (Microsoft and Google products required).
    • Displays enthusiasm and confidence in taking on tasks and challenges.
    • Must have a Valid Driver’s License, a vehicle in good working condition, and must be willing to travel to various job related locations.

    • Ensure the provision of quality services through participation in Crossnore Communities for Children Performance Quality Improvement (PQI).

    JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    STATE SERVICE DEFINITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Ensure service delivery is consistent with the state’s Intensive In-Home Service Definition:
    • Ensure all Team members meet requirements, engage in necessary training, and provide services in accordance with the NC Division of MH/DD/SA Service Definition for Intensive In-Home Services.
    • Manage scheduling and assignments for team members, to meet service definition requirements for all clients on the team’s caseload (a minimum of 2 hours per date of service; with at least 12 contacts per family in the first month and at least of 6 contacts per family in the following months).
    • Maintain an appropriate team-to-family ratio; not to exceed 12 families per team.
    • Ensure service authorization is obtained and maintained throughout the course of treatment.
    • Provide individual and family therapy for each client served by the team.
    • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and reassessments as needed for individual clinical needs.
    • Ensure, in conjunction with other team members, Child & Family team meetings and Person-Centered Plan updates occur at least monthly.
    • Provide clinical expertise and supervision to all team members; engaging in individual supervision at least once per month, and providing performance evaluations and initiating creation of professional development plan goals at least annually.
    • Be available for immediate consultation 24 hours a day, 7 days per week to your team.  Provide coverage of the emergency/crisis line in collaboration with team members; carrying an agency-issued cell phone for 24/7 availability. Arrange for coverage when unavailable.
    • Facilitate weekly team meetings and case staffings, to assess progress on goals and help structure time and activities during service interventions for children/families.
    • Consult with team members and departmental leadership regarding safety issues to help identify risks, promote safety, and implement safety plans; respond to family crises and consult with team members regarding safety concerns if and when they occur, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Increase the amount of consultation when serious safety risks or concerns exist.
    • Consult with and make referrals for needed medical and non-medical services (including collaboration with primary care providers, schools, DSS, DJJDP, psychologists, psychiatrists, and other community and natural supports).
    • Ensure all team members are trained and display competence in: crisis intervention; motivational interviewing strategies; research-based cognitive/behavioral strategies; attachment and trauma-responsive caregiving; a collaborative goal setting and service planning process; and assessment of goal progress and needs throughout the course of the intervention.
    • Monitor use of concrete service funds; assist team members in prioritizing families’ concrete and service needs to ensure scarce resources are utilized effectively.
    Provide initial and ongoing training, supervision and support for team members:
    • Engage new team members in initial on-the-job training activities planned in conjunction with the director, in accordance with agency and service definition requirements. Participate in required supervisor training and meetings.
    • Develop an initial Professional Development Plan outlining how training needs will be provided.
    • Provide practitioners with constructive performance-based feedback, helping them utilize critical thinking skills to evaluate their own performance and to assess the effectiveness of their teaching methods. 
    • Model and develop team member behaviors that emphasize recognition, encouragement, collaboration, team participation, effective problem solving, accountability, and respect for cultural differences; promote the view of mistakes as learning opportunities; use cognitive / behavioral approach in supervision; offer emotional and technical support; assist in advocacy efforts as needed. 
    • Monitor quality of interventions: Accompany team members in home-based sessions; ensure their behavior with clients facilitates problem solving and progress toward goals; review and provide feedback on written goals, service plans and assessments; review safety plans where applicable; conduct clinical record reviews and provide feedback to team members; utilize data to routinely evaluate and improve individual and team performance. 
    Administrative and Organizational Responsibilities:
    • Maintain a flexible work week to meet the needs of client families, team members and other job responsibilities.
    • Become familiar with the agency’s Electronic Health Record system, and ensure all clinical documentation for the team is completed and submitted in a timely manner (within 7 days of service).
    • Collect, review and approve timesheets, expense reports and check requests for accuracy and submit according to agency guidelines. Ensure agency protocols regarding petty cash, receipts, credit card usage, etc. are followed.
    • Review, revise and approve all documents sent to parties outside the agency.
    • Maintain positive working relationships with local social service agencies and others in the community.
    Internal Operations:
    • Manage staffing, training and evaluation in the program. 
    • Supervise staff to include recommendations for hiring and termination, documenting all supervisory meetings, including minutes, corrective action, disciplinary action, new-hire and annual performance appraisals, etc. in a timely manner. 
    • Hold staff accountable for compliance with meeting program requirements, adhering to policies, procedures and providing duties as outlined in staff’s respective job descriptions. 
    • Ensure personnel file compliance by submitting all personnel file documentation to Human Resources in a timely manner; also ensures that supervisees’ files are compliant. 
    • Support supervisees in ensuring there is adequate coverage at all times (e.g., in the event of vacancies, vacation, illness, etc.).
    • Demonstrate competency fostering a team environment through effective communication, conflict management, strong interpersonal skills and adaptive leadership; nurturing a broad network of relationships through active outreach and engagement.
    Compliance and Outcomes:
    • Work with program leadership and agency’s PQI Team to provide resources and support for the program to meet MCO contracts, outcomes evaluations, and quality improvement plans for the program.
    External Operations:
    • Work in collaboration with other programs and services both on and off campus to assure that the mission and vision of Crossnore Communities for Children is met.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, referral agencies, providers, clients, business partners and other interested parties.
    Other Duties:
    • Demonstrate the ability to take supervisory direction as well as work independently using sound judgment.
    • Promote a safe, secure environment in all areas of responsibility by adhering to all policies and procedures and all program guidelines pertaining to risk management.
    • Keep necessary documentation up-to-date and accurate as it pertains to program operations, staffing/supervision, and all other areas.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    TYPICAL SCHEDULE AND WORKING CONDITIONS
    Requires working flexible hours, including some evenings, weekends and holidays. Work is performed in an office environment, the community and client homes. Conditions in client homes may include clutter/disorganization, tobacco smoke, domestic animals, household pests, mold and other allergens, and other conditions common to domestic environments. Requires extensive travel to client homes and throughout the community.  Valid Driver’s License and use of your personal vehicle, with valid insurance coverage, required.

    Position may require lifting to 20 pounds  at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Frequent walking, standing, and sitting. Frequent reaching and/or grasping using hands and/or arms. May be required to ascend/descend stairs, or move across uneven terrain. Frequent use of hands requiring dexterity in using the telephone, computer keyboard, or other objects. Visual ability including distance, peripheral and depth perception. Ability to drive. Regularly required to talk and hear
