Campus Police Supervisor leads the investigation and apprehension of campus criminals. Protects life and property safety on campus. Being a Campus Police Supervisor ensures compliance with state laws, city ordinances, and university regulations. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Campus Police Supervisor requires P. O.S.T. certification. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Campus Police Supervisor manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Campus Police Supervisor typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     • Enforces the rules and regulations of Coahoma community College and The State of Mississippi
     
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Enforces all rules and regulations of Coahoma Community College
    • Maintains a highly visible patrol
    • Makes a written report for any problem that may have occurred during a shift
    • Makes arrests for any criminal violation committed; notifies the Chief prior to making the arrest
    • Maintains an orderly traffic flow, monitors all parking areas, and writes tickets for violations
    • Conduct patrols on campus to ensure security of building, students and staff 
    • Responds swiftly to any calls received from students, faculty, or staff
    • Attends all training sessions organized for law enforcement, fire department, or general campus safety
    • Testifies at all campus hearings or court proceedings as required
    • Reports any problems that may cause accidents or injuries to others to the Chief of Safety

    Requirements:
    • Certified Police Officer
    • Good communication and mediation, and conflict resolution skills.
    • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
    • Good observation and decision-making skills.
    • Physical dexterity.
    • Ability to cooperate.
