Minimum qualifications for application submittal include US citizenship, 21 years of age upon completion of the Police Academy, and possession of a valid driver’s license. For lateral applicants, typical qualifications in addition to those above would be equivalent to: certified peace officer status, an Associate Degree or two years of college level coursework, and three years of experience as a peace officer. Preference will be given to applicants with a Wyoming Peace Officer certification and Spanish language fluency. Up to $400/month Spanish fluency stipend. $15,000 signing/stay bonus. Officers are eligible to advance in rank and compensation from Police Officer to Police Officer IV under a time in service/merit/mastery program providing a 4.5% wage increase with each advancement in addition to annual increases.
