The Human Resources Recruiter achieves staffing objectives by recruiting and evaluating job candidates across all departments and divisions for management and hourly positions within the hospital. Responsible for increasing the quantity and quality of applicants for all open positions while serving a vital role in the interviewing/selection/on-boarding process. Positively impacts retention across the hospital.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
. · Greets employees and visitors to department, and answers phone calls.
· Tracks open positions; Prepares and posts job openings internally, as directed; Actively recruits for all openings in the hospital; Inputs applicant information into HRIS and maintains system for referencing current applications and resumes.
· Verifies, obtains and documents references and work history information from prior employers, education organizations, individuals, and other sources.
· Onboards efficiently by completing records for newly hired employees including all signatures, pre-employment screening requirements, and photo identification badges; Schedules new employees for orientation; Assists in organizing orientation and presenting materials as needed.
· Establishes recruiting requirements by studying hospital goals, objectives and values; Collaborates with managers and senior leaders to identify specific departmental needs as it relates to vacancies, recruiting and placement; Assists managers in maintaining up-to-date job descriptions and determining job qualifications; Consults and guides managers through the interview and selection process.
· Implements and manages effective recruiting tactics that includes direct sourcing, resume database mining, conducting searches with online tools, using social media, job fairs, industry networking events, colleges, local high schools and professional associations; Continually utilizes innovative strategies to recruit and provide a high volume and level of talent.
· Conducts exit interviews and works with Director of Human Resources in analyzing turnover data to identify areas of focus; Maintains related cost reports.
· Collects, tracks and maintains licensing/certification and education documents for new hires and all existing employees to ensure compliance with hospital policies and JCAHO requirements.
· Maintains HRIS and maximizes functionality as it relates to on-boarding and recruiting.
· Assists Director of Human Resources in completing salary surveys to maintain benchmarking and competitiveness in the industry.
· Works collaboratively with the Education Coordinator in managing internship and shadow experiences across the hospital.
· Develops annual recruiting budget for approval; Monitors and reviews budget reports on a monthly basis and provides feedback to the Director of Human Resources as necessary.
· Assists in administration of daily human resource activities; Performs special projects and other requests in a timely manner.
· Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions; ensures compliance with Joint Commission and other external and internal regulatory agencies.
· Travel, if any, is primarily local during the business day.
