Campus Security Director directs and implements security and safety policies and procedures on campus. Manages the work activities of campus police and patrol units. Being a Campus Security Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a senior institutional officer. The Campus Security Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Campus Security Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Job Skills / Requirements
- Position requires a valid state of LA guard card and drivers license
- Conduct regular walking / vehical patrols of assigned areas to identify and report any identified security and safety concerns.
- Collaborate seamlessly with law enforcement agencies and emergency services, fostering effective coordination in responses to incidents and providing valuable assistance in investigations.
- Maintain precise and detailed logs documenting activities, incidents, and notable observations, facilitating comprehensive reporting and analysis for enhanced security measures.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, emergencies, and other incidents, utilizing appropriate actions and established protocols.
- Monitor facility access points, employing verification procedures to authenticate the identification and credentials of individuals entering or exiting premises, in support of a secure environment.
