Campus Security Director directs and implements security and safety policies and procedures on campus. Manages the work activities of campus police and patrol units. Being a Campus Security Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a senior institutional officer. The Campus Security Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Campus Security Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. You will be a great fit if you
- Are at least 21 years of age
- Are able to provide proof of High School diploma, GED or higher education.
- Have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Have a minimum of 1 year security experience
- Possess a valid Washington State Security License or be willing to obtain one. 2024 SGL costs are $31.05 for fingerprints and $101.00 for the License application.) There is also an unpaid mandatory State SGL class that you will be required to complete.
- Have effective verbal and written communication skills

- Ensure the continual safety and security of site staff and visitors
- Maintain a physical presence, serving as a visible deterrent to illegal activity
- Provide an empathetic approach to managing any escalated persons and situations
- Write detailed and accurate reports outlining any incidents that occur at your location
- Positively contribute to the overall experience and atmosphere by providing superior customer care to anyone you interact with
- Conduct patrols on foot and while driving a company vehicle
- Walking and standing for long periods of time
- Engage in high volume public interaction
