Campus Security Director directs and implements security and safety policies and procedures on campus. Manages the work activities of campus police and patrol units. Being a Campus Security Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a senior institutional officer. The Campus Security Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Campus Security Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Certification as an unarmed private security professional through the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) is required at time of application. To promote the safety and well-being of the College community, utilizing established College policies and procedures while working in accordance with the Oregon DPSST Private Security Professional standards. Campus Security provides patrol services on campus to ensure the safety and security of staff, students, and the public. Observes, reports, and safely intervenes, when appropriate, and reports criminal or illegal acts to outside partner agencies. Responds and takes appropriate action in the event of a fire or medical emergency and reports to outside partner agencies.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED/equivalent.
Three (3) years’ experience in either a private or public security position.
Requires the ability to perform all of the duties of the position effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision.
