Position Summary
Deliver care to patients in a clinic setting utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation, in accordance with established philosophy. Nurses collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. Nurses effectively interact with patients, significant others, and family, while maintaining the standard of professional nursing.
Essential Functions
-Knows/conforms to the Texas Nursing Practice Act and the Board's rules and regulations as well as all Federal, State or local laws, rules or regulations.
-Provide, without discrimination, nursing services regardless of age, disability, economic status, gender, national origin, and race, religion, or health problems of the patient’s service.
-Responsible for the total nursing care, assessment, planning implementation, and evaluation of each assigned patient.
-Plans, provides, evaluates, and documents nursing care, discharge planning and teaching.
-Assures the plan is carried out and provided in a safe environment, through performance and supervision of subordinate personnel.
-Supervises non-clinical staff.
-Educates patients, family, or others to attain optimal health and continuity of care.
-Demonstrates critical thinking skills in decision making.
-Properly documents ongoing assessment, plan or care and medication administration.
-Monitors and interprets clinical information and reports abnormal findings as appropriate.
-Reports to and departs from work on time and as scheduled.
-Performs other duties as assigned.
-Maintain composure during stressful situations.
-Follows and adheres to TRMC vaccine policy(s) mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Work Experience
-Two years of RN experience in either hospital med/surg or critical care area or
-Two years of RN experience working in a clinic or cancer center.
Education
-Registered Nurse currently licensed to practice in the State of Texas required.
-Oncology certified nurse certification required within 6 months of start date
-Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Provider card required within 2 years of start date.
-BLS (Basic Life Support) upon hire date required.
