Description
The OR RN is responsible for planning, executing, directing, and evaluating direct and indirect nursing care given to the surgical patient. The opportunity to cross-train into PACU/PRE-OP/POST-OP are given. This position will allow you to become diverse and understand all phases of patient care as they go through their surgical procedure. Collaboration between phases will allow for a team atmosphere and ensure the success of the patient. It is a practice designed to meet a patient’s needs through the nursing process, ensuring continuity of care during the surgical experience. RNFA or scrub experience is a plus and allows for more hands-on care during OR time.
Requirements
Current Registered Nurse license in state of Idaho.
Current BLS certification required.
Ability to work well with physicians, employees, patients, and others.
ACLS and PALS certification within one year of hire.
Ability and willingness to work with patients’ growth and development needs particularly related to the age of patients in the unit/area(s) of assignment.
Ability and willingness to demonstrate and maintain clinical competency as required for the unit/area(s) of assignment.
Ability to manage a challenging work environment.
