Compensation

Salary Range: $34.06- $51.33 / hour

The pay range above represents the lowest possible rate for the position and the highest possible rate. Factors that may be used to determine where newly hired employees will be placed in the pay range include the employee specific skills and qualifications, relevant years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most often, a newly hired employee will be placed below the midpoint of the range. Pay for PRN positions is calculated differently than Full-Time, Regular Part-Time, and Part-Time positions. PRN Rates depend on the position and other factors, including years of experience, or shift commitment according to the department policy. PRN differential is added in certain positions.

Responsibilities

The Cancer Program Manager is responsible for ensuring that certification by the American College of Surgeons (ACOS) is attained as a Community Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Program (COMP). The Cancer Program Manager possesses the technical knowledge and management skills necessary to maintain efficient operation and use of a cancer data collection system in accordance with regulatory, legal and administrative requirements. The Cancer Program Manager ensures that data collection and the use of said data is conducted in a professional, ethical manner.

Qualifications

Required:  

• Bachelor of Arts or Science degree
• Knowledge and understanding of Medical terminology, anatomy, histology, hematology, diagnostic procedures, extent of disease staging, TNM staging, cancer treatment and disease coding.
• Experience analyzing and interpreting statistical data
• Knowledge of Word, Excel, Access, CNExT software, Power point, and experience working with databases.
• Minimum of 5 years management experience

Preferred:   

• Certified Cancer Registrar certificate (Must obtain within 3 years of employment if hired without certification).
• 4-5 years of registry experience
• Experience in an ACOS approved Cancer Program
