Job Summary: Assist physician in assessing patients and establishing a plan of care for patient while undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatment. Two to three years clinical experience working with oncology patients and a strong desire to teach patients. A staff nurse is responsible for implementing the philosophy, objectives, standards of care, policies, and procedures of the Nursing Division under the direction of the Office Manager. The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing direct patient care. This position also trains new clinical employees in office protocols.
Minimum Requirements: Graduate from an NCBON approved School of Nursing and/or graduate from an approved School of Nursing. Current RN license with the North Carolina Board of Nursing, Temporary License with the NC Board of Nursing or a Current License with a Nurse Licensure Compact State. Current AHA CPR certification. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her unit(s). The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's/area's/ department's policies and procedures.
