Cannery Worker packages food products in various ways including freezing, canning, and preserving for future consumption. Sorts and prepares products, feeds products into processing equipment, and places or stores food products according to specifications. Being a Cannery Worker may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Cannery Worker may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Primary Purpose:
Assist in receiving, storing, issuing and delivering of equipment, tools, and supplies, maintaining inventory control, and doing the required recordkeeping. Assist with in-district and outgoing mail in accordance to United States Postal service regulations.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification
High School Diploma or GED
Valid Texas Driver’s License
Special Knowledge/Skills
Ability to operate hand tools and mechanical equipment
Ability to operate personal computer
Ability to read supply requisitions and perform basic arithmetic
Ability to operate light truck
