General James M. Gavin Power Plant is a 2,600-megawatt supercritical coal-fired power station in the village of Cheshire, Ohio, United States. It is owned by Lightstone Generation LLC, a 50–50 joint venture of The Blackstone Group L.P. and ArcLight Capital. The ICE Planner obtains material and plans the work, provides job hour estimates and any supporting craft that may be needed to complete the job. Assists in the development of long- and short-range plans for maintenance, capital improvement availability and safety. Assists with developing work scope for contractor bids and contracts, requesting contractor quotes, tracking budgets, and working with accounting on actual cost of jobs as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists workers and supervision in the performance of assigned tasks using the work management system(s) and in the development of detailed work plans for project, outage, and maintenance work.
• Performs with proper guidance planning functions required to participate in outage / projects and other assignments in a safe, healthy, efficient, and economical manner.
• Seeks input/feedback and can analyze and recommend enhancements to department processes.
• Attends daily ICE kickoff meetings. Has day-to-day involvement in ICE issues. Attends debriefs with crews to seek feedback (parts used/needed, roadblocks, improvement ideas, etc.). Supports the lean initiative to identify and eliminate waste. Attend job briefs on complex or hazardous jobs.
• Walks down work requests, reviews for accuracy. Collaborates with energy production, mechanical planners, and others to remove uncertainty.
• Adds additional info and suggested parts (Cat ID and location) to work order instructions; adds elementary print numbers.
• Share contractor coordination duties amongst ICE planners and PSLs (Elevators, HVAC, Cranes, H&B, Switchgear maintenance, etc.)
• Obtains quotes, develops cost estimates, and submits contract requests as needed.
• Assists with providing input to annual budget and monthly forecasts.
• Participates in outage and project planning and scheduling activities. Assists in developing plans to improve operating and maintenance outage efficiency.
• Knows the status of any outstanding material needed for the job and/or does research to acquire the proper parts for the job.
• Prepares and assists with analysis of reports using work management system(s) such as Asset Suite. Can update/revise PM model work orders. Understands the use of PaSTA for planning and scheduling.
• Participates in On Call rotation. Works fair share of ICE exempt overtime which at times may include weekend or night shift coverage for urgent jobs or startup support.
• Covers for other ICE planners when needed. Fills in as ICE PSL when needed. Fills in for ICE superintendent when needed.
• Plans all work activities in accordance with the policies, practices, standards, and rules of the company.
• Attends ICE monthly safety meetings. Conducts meetings periodically (in rotation with ICE PSLs).
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
