Capacity Planning Supervisor jobs in Grand Rapids, MI

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Planning Supervisor to join our team at our facility in Lapeer, MI. The ideal candidate will have experience in ERP software, Lean Manufacturing principles, scheduling, and preferably have a Bachelors Degree in the related field.This is a Salary position.

Responsibilities

• Personnel and organizational management of the internal MRP department.
• Manage internal capacities within the production process in consideration of customer demand and production utilization
• Securing internal delivery reliability to ensure on time supply for all production departments
• Coordination of external raw material vendors to secure supply for production
• Capacity leveling throughout the Internal supply chain as basis for efficient production
• Definition of economic lot sizes while archiving target according to working capital as inventory responsible for raw material, half-finished and finished goods including work in progress
• Analyze the day-to-day functions of department to highlight areas for possible improvement through the use of statistical and cost analysis.
• Preparation of KPIs; Monitoring the target values.
• Constant monitoring of machine capacities.
• Implementation of logistical projects or cooperation within projects.
• Coordination with Customer Service in case of supply shortages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Operations Management or Industrial Engineering is preferred, or equivalent coupled with higher degree and/or training.
• Prior supervisory experience.
• Prior Materials Management experience.
• Good communication skills.
• Computer experience is required, specifically experience with spreadsheets and programming knowledge is helpful.
• Experience with ERP System preferred (SAP modules SAP IM, SAP PP).
• Physically able to lift 30 pounds.
