Capacity Planning Supervisor leads a capacity planning team to plan and monitor an organization's operating limits and capacities. Forecasts and plans capacity requirements to align with production schedules, resource levels, and inventory demand. Being a Capacity Planning Supervisor identifies and troubleshoots production issues or bottlenecks that impact plant capacity. Coordinates with internal stakeholders to understand future plans and develop responsive capacity forecasting. Additionally, Capacity Planning Supervisor utilizes production metrics and manufacturing research to develop insights on processes or equipment and recommend improvements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Capacity Planning Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Capacity Planning Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Facilities Capacity Planning Manager to join our growing team. Reporting to the VP of Infrastructure, the Facilities Capacity Planning Manager participates and leads in the development, recommendation, and administration of management tools, schedules, policies, procedures and processes in support of RE, space planning, budget, project and overall departmental operations. The Manager responds to inquiries and requests for service from internal departments and manages administrative service vendors, suppliers, professionals and subcontractor technical/support staff. The Manager also schedules, assigns, reviews, and supervises the work of vendors, sub contactors for projects and operations representing a variety of work skills necessary for the strategic planning and on ongoing maintenance, health and safety, and repair of the facilities, buildings, grounds, custodial and equipment; participates in the design, review, and space planning of existing and new facilities, remodeling projects; and does related work as required.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • In addition to the space planning described above, this role participates, plans, organizes, maintains, and manages the departmental budgets. Supports, develops and manages inter and across departmental operations project initiatives. Scheduling, Cost and performance KPIs and tracking are key development areas. Can establish and monitor preventative maintenance processes and programs, tracking, inspection, certification and permit licenses for on-going review and certification by agencies having jurisdiction. (EPA, MSDS, Fire, Life safety, OSHA dept of labor etc.
    • Experience with supervising and management of administrative services skilled and technical/support staff and contractor/subcontractors a plus.
    • Conduct RFP scoping, Leveling of proposals and recommendation
    • Develops, recommends, and administers policies, procedures, and processes in facilities, projects and building maintenance operations; implements and monitors compliance with approved policies, procedures, and processes.
    • Administers procurement and fiscal management activities associated with building and grounds maintenance activities, which may include: RFPs, and contracts for all operational interior/exterior grounds and maintenance related work to acquire trades and professional assistance; monitoring spending on project and cost account basis; recommending and implementing corrective spending plans; reviewing and authorizing purchase orders; administering contracts; obtaining price quotes and bids; purchasing and approving employee purchases; ensuring compliance with college and public purchasing rules; and/or, performing other related activities.
    • Manages response to in and after-hour issues as needed regarding the operational aspects of the facilities such as HVAC issues, fire alarm malfunctions, electrical outages, water leaks, etc.
    • Gathers from facilities area managers/techs, updates and maintains list of facilities equipment, including life-cycle and replacement costs.
    • Collects, validates and analyzes a variety of data and information, including utility costs and usage. Performs analysis and summarizes findings in applicable reports or other communication mediums. For the review of departmental head across the portfolio.
    • Participates in a variety of meetings, committees (including chairing), task forces, and/or other related groups to communicate information regarding services, programs, areas of opportunity, and/or other pertinent information as appropriate.
    • Serves as a liaison with other departments and external agencies to provide information on available resources, projects, and/or services as requested by dept head.
    • May perform all or some of the responsibilities above and other related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Bachelor’s Degree Facilities Management, Engineering, Architecture, Administration or a related building construction and/or operations field.
    • Reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, drawings, maps, and/or other related technical documents.
    • Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirements.
    • Five years’ progressively responsible, professional experience.
    • Personnel logistical and capacity space planning
    • Aptitude in Blue Beam and/or CAD and other space planning tools
    • Budget and asset inventory creation reporting and tracking principles
    • Facilities space planning, operations and maintenance, reporting tools and practices
    • Contract management principles and practices
    • Applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules, regulations, codes, and/or statutes
    • Budgeting principles and practices
    • Procurement principles and practices
    • Project management principles
    • Preventative maintenance principles and practices
    • Maintaining data and components for facilities, such as: 3/5 Year Scheduled Maintenance, 5 Year Facilities Condition Assessment
    • Industry Best Practices
    • Continuous Quality Improvement Principles
    • Sustainability in Facilities Management and maintaining currency in sustainable practices.
    • OSHA health and safety rules regs and reporting. Experience managing internal/external contractors, vendors, consultants
    • Reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, drawings, maps, and/or other related technical documents.
    • Managing, multi-discipline space planning (adds, moves and change) projects involving multiple locations.
    • Interpreting and applying applicable laws, rules, and regulations
    • Managing maintenance/supply contracts
    • Proactive approach to analyzing processes and reporting recognizing areas of improvement with solution recommendations.
    • Coordinating activities with other internal departments, vendors and/or external agencies.
    • Preparing a variety of reports related to operational activities, including statistical analysis.
    • Data driven reporting and planning for budgeting
    • Developing, recommending, implementing, and monitoring policies, procedures, and workflow.
    • Utilizing computer technology used for communication, data gathering and reporting; Microsoft office, project, excel ( pivot table skills), word and power point at a minimum.
    • Communicating effectively through oral and written mediums.

    Physical Demands
