Capacity Planning Supervisor leads a capacity planning team to plan and monitor an organization's operating limits and capacities. Forecasts and plans capacity requirements to align with production schedules, resource levels, and inventory demand. Being a Capacity Planning Supervisor identifies and troubleshoots production issues or bottlenecks that impact plant capacity. Coordinates with internal stakeholders to understand future plans and develop responsive capacity forecasting. Additionally, Capacity Planning Supervisor utilizes production metrics and manufacturing research to develop insights on processes or equipment and recommend improvements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Capacity Planning Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Capacity Planning Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Summary
Planning Managers help oversee and perform key Planning and Scheduling activities for a Trident location and may facilitate Planning and Scheduling activities for multiple locations. This typically involves supporting multiple programs, and the role also leads training, onboarding, and quality checks to promote best practices. The Planning Manager will fulfill the role of planner and/or scheduler for certain projects depending on size, scope and complexity.
The Planning Manager must exemplify excellent organization, resource, and time management. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, problem-solving and analytical abilities, and leadership initiative will all be needed to succeed in this role. Planning Managers and their team members form an integral part of the Project Management Organization (PMO) supporting Trident’s customer base.
