Summary of Position:
The Manager, Operations Command Center is instrumental to all components of the Production Command Center. This role will research, guide, and lead all aspects of the Command Center; scoping, research, pricing, and construction. The Manager will oversee implementation and troubleshooting, and be responsible for day-to-day operation, as well as Command Center Team management.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise day-to-day operation of command center and ensure smooth transition from current operational phase to any future expansion.
- Work with production, automation, midstream, facility and other relevant teams to establish data hierarchy to be monitored.
- Maintain continuous communication with key stakeholders in production, automation, midstream, facility and other relevant teams regarding operations.
- Leads engagement with production operations, facilities, midstream and EHS as needed to ensure alignment and cooperation.
- Align command center design/vision with EHSR team to ensure it will be a functional tool in the CIVI ICS structure.
- Manage and mentor team of foreman, leads and operators associated with command center operation.
- Ensure continuous improvement of command center and associated personnel; strive to continually evolve and expand function of command center.
- Establish extent to which control center can be used to optimize production going forward; analyze potential for machine learning implementation to automate plunger, gas lift, etc. parameters.
- Forward-thinking about the larger business, understand how the command center will be utilized across the current business model and how it can be expanded both cross-discipline and cross-basin.
- Follow safe operating practices and ensure compliance with CIVI Environmental, Safety & Regulatory requirements
- Provide training to new team members and ensure ongoing professional and career development.
- Assure all work performed adheres to CIVI standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:
- Expertise in real-time monitoring systems and technologies used in the oil and gas industry. Familiarity with supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, distributed control systems (DCS), and other monitoring tools is essential.
- Familiarity with integrating new technologies into operations, such as the implementation of advanced monitoring systems, automation, and data analytics for improved decision-making.
- Strong decision-making skills, especially in high-pressure situations. The Manager must be capable of making informed decisions quickly and effectively.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, able to articulate ideas clearly and effectively in a variety of settings and with diverse audiences.
- Meticulous attention to detail, consistently ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks and deliverables.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, enabling efficient planning and execution of work to meet established deadlines.

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of oil and gas industry experience required; education may be counted toward experience requirements; 5 years of additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Prior experience in roles related to operations management, control center operations, or real-time monitoring required.
- Demonstrated success under the current ECMC rules and regulations is required.
- Experience in multiple basins is preferred.
Travel Requirements:
- Work is performed at a CIVI location Monday-Friday.
- Schedule: traditional 40-hour workweek or alternative schedule of 9 hour work days M-Thurs and 4-hour workdays Friday.
- Travel required by vehicle to the Civitas field locations.
