    The Portfolio Manager/Consumer and Small Business Lender will perform a dual role of duties. It will serve as a key support function for the production officers of the Commercial Banking area and originate consumer/small business loans, promote consumer/small business banking institution and its lending and depository services of the community. This position will also focus on developing and maintaining commercial lending and depository relationships for the bank. 

     

    Specific Job Functions

    • Solicits consumer/small business loans and deposit relationships for the bank. 
    • Evaluates and negotiates potential consumer loan requests and makes loan approval recommendations.
    • Manages the client’s banking accounts for the life of the client’s relationship.
    • Markets the consumer/small business banking institution’s ancillary products and services to clients.  
    • Prepares loan file comments, monitors loan covenants, monitors proper financial statement reporting, and monitors any collateral reporting as dictated by the policies of the organization. 
    • Prepares and analyzes various periodic reports.
    • Responsible for keeping current on all deposit and credit compliance and regulations. 
    • Monitors loan repayment activity and takes necessary action to collect past due accounts.
    • Provides support for the bank’s sales efforts which may include selling and promoting services.

     

    Minimum Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
    • 0-3 years of experience in a financial institution or loan office setting is required.
    • Must demonstrate strong financial and analytical skills. 
    • Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
    • Must demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with co-workers and clients. 
    • Experienced in computer skills and Microsoft Suite.
