Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Under close supervision, assist in the fabrication / assembly of machine parts through operation of light duty tools such as drill press, mills, lathes and saws.
General knowledge of tools both hand and precision such as scale, square set, measuring tape, micrometer and dial caliper.
Performs routine and manual tasks, cleaning machines, empty chip hoppers, de-burring machine parts using hand or power tools.
Expediting delivery of raw materials and machine parts.
Emphasis is on learning assembly techniques and / or machine shop skills to advance in the assigned department.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
1. High School, Trade School or equivalent preferred.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move about and position themselves to operate and adjust tools and controls.
The employee also needs to observe and inspect the work area for safe transport of products while maintaining communication and information exchanges with fellow employees.
This is a physically demanding position requiring heavy lifting and carrying (50-100 lb.). The ability to stand continuously is essential with occasional walking and sitting.
The nature of this position will require employee to perform a wide range of physical activities ranging from pushing and pulling heavy objects (50-100 lb.
