CLINICAL MANAGER - OPERATING ROOM
Southwest General has 16 operating rooms that provide a variety of inpatient and outpatient surgical services, including General, GYN, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, Vascular, Urology, Endoscopy, and Robotics. Patient acuity varies. BSN and CNOR credential are required.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the overall operations of the clinical/business and support services for the department(s) for which they have been assigned responsibility. The Clinical Manager is responsible for the development, coordination and monitoring of activities that promote clinically effective and efficient patient care. Responsible for the planning, organization and direction of patient care activities in their department/unit(s). Demonstrates leadership competencies and values through development and coaching of direct reports. Promotes succession planning. Monitors employee retention, recruitment and satisfaction. Consults and collaborates with other health care team members to provide safe appropriate patient care. Ensures a culture of accountability. Demonstrates the ability to problem-solve. Leads by vision.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate effective problem solving/decision making abilities. The ability to plan and prioritize with excellent time management skills is essential to success in this role. The Clinical Manager performs with initiative and innovation, with a knowledge of practice requirements for RN, mandated by the Nurse Practice Act, Surgical Scrub Technician, and Surgical Assistant. Knowledge of regulatory and governing bodies standards is also essential.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and current licensure by Ohio State Board of Nursing. Bachelor’s degree required.
Required length of experience:
Five (5) years of clinical experience in an acute care setting with three (3) years successful experience in a leadership position strongly preferred.
Required licensure, certification, and/or registry:
Current license by the Ohio State Board of Nursing.
CPR, BLS & CNOR required.
