Spin-Testing Analysis: Perform spin tests (bench size centrifuge) at various temperatures to gauge applicability of a GEA WSUS machine for customer samples. Write reports conveying results. On occasion by request, calculate density of a liquid phase using a pycnometer or viscosity using a viscometer.
60% of work, 1 hour per sample for testing
Polymer Jar Testing for Environmental Division: Perform jar testing using polymer flocculants to analyze dewaterability of wastewater solids and determine an optimum dosage of polymer. This involves incremental dosing of a number of polymer emulsions per test, squeezing water out of the solids with towels, and determining dryness gravimetrically. Imhoff settling tests are also performed on each sample. Write reports conveying all results.
25% of work, 4 hours per sample for involved testing portion
Pilot Scale Testing: Manage, coordinate, and perform pilot scale testing using the lab decanter and/or centrifuge. Decanter testing involves ~250 gallons while centrifuge testing involves ~20 gallons. Spin-testing is performed throughout testing to analyze machine performance. Solids from the decanter are analyzed for moisture using an automatic moisture analyzer. Different parameters must be adjusted for pilot testing including differential speed, flow rate, back pressure, ring dams, and separating disc configuration. Write reports conveying all test results.
10% of work, 1-3 days for testing
SDS Sign-Off Sheets: Review SDS sheets from customer products and cleaning solutions for machines coming into Patterson or Northvale for repair or returning from rental periods
On-site Support: Travel to local customer sites to provide support through spin-testing and moisture analysis of solids.
