Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Manager plans and implements the overall policies, procedures, and services of the cardiac catheterization lab. Ensures efficient and effective lab operations, including quality control and compliance with regulations and policies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Job Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in medical technology or chemical, physical, or biological science. Master’s degree preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Medical Technologist (MT) certification through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) required or must be eligible to obtain within 6 months of hire.
Experience: At least 5 years’ experience working in a medical laboratory and previous experience as a supervisor/manager is required. Extensive knowledge of Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA). Knowledge of current medical terminology to perform full range of laboratory tests and to communicate with medical staff regarding laboratory procedures and results. Knowledge of laboratory equipment and testing to perform quality control checks and troubleshooting of instrumentation. Skills in performing: a full range of laboratory tests; anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency situations; developing and maintaining department quality assurance; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, staff and the public. Ability to read and understand information about instrumentation in laboratory field, to follow written protocols, to work independently and to communicate clearly.
Physical Requirements: Frequent sitting, standing and walking. Ability to reach, stoop, and bend. Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
