Cardiac Catheterization Technologist performs diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations and other related procedures. Inserts small catheters through a needle into the blood vessels and into the heart so that X-rays, angiograms and other recordings can be taken to determine the heart's structure and function. Being a Cardiac Catheterization Technologist assist physicians with patient monitoring during surgery or procedures. Documents evaluation results, progress reports, treatment plans and other data using appropriate formats and systems. Additionally, Cardiac Catheterization Technologist some positions may require additional certifications such as: Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES). Requires an associate degree. Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Requires Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS). Typically requires State License. Typically reports to a manager. A registered or registry eligible Sonographer.

BLS certified.
PHYSICAL DEMAND
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand and walk. The employee must frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. The specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and the risk of electrical shock.
2-3 years experience, must be a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), management experience a plus, familiar with WORD and EXCEL, has experience with 3-D, strain, TAVRs, Watchman, MitraClip, dobutamine stress testing, and TEEs.
