Job Overview:

As a Cardiac Radiology Technologist, you will play a key role in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular conditions by operating specialized imaging equipment. Your responsibilities will include performing cardiac imaging procedures, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cardiac Imaging Procedures:
  • Perform a variety of cardiac imaging procedures, including angiograms, echocardiograms, and cardiac catheterizations.
  • Operate and maintain specialized imaging equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
• Patient Care:
  • Prepare patients for procedures, explaining the process and addressing any concerns.
  • Monitor patients during and after procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.
• Collaboration:
  • Work closely with cardiologists, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to plan and execute cardiac imaging procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure accurate and timely diagnostic information.
• Quality Assurance:
  • Perform quality assurance checks on imaging equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Adhere to radiation safety protocols and guidelines to minimize patient and staff exposure.
• Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, including procedure details, patient history, and imaging results.
  • Ensure proper documentation of equipment maintenance and quality control measures.
• Education and Training:
  • Stay informed about advancements in cardiac imaging technology and techniques.
  • Provide education and training to junior staff and students as needed.

Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Certification in Cardiac-Interventional Radiography (CI) or equivalent.
• State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.

Skills:

• Proficiency in operating cardiac imaging equipment.
• Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Experience:

• Previous experience as a Cardiac Radiology Technologist is preferred.
• Familiarity with Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) and Radiology Information Systems (RIS).
