Cardiac Catheterization Technologist performs diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations and other related procedures. Inserts small catheters through a needle into the blood vessels and into the heart so that X-rays, angiograms and other recordings can be taken to determine the heart's structure and function. Being a Cardiac Catheterization Technologist assist physicians with patient monitoring during surgery or procedures. Documents evaluation results, progress reports, treatment plans and other data using appropriate formats and systems. Additionally, Cardiac Catheterization Technologist some positions may require additional certifications such as: Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES). Requires an associate degree. Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Requires Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS). Typically requires State License. Typically reports to a manager. $2.50 Weekend Differential
Starting pay for this position is $32.87 -$43.02; base pay offered may increase based on experience, skills and internal equity.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Assists physicians with performance of invasive cardiac procedures, serving as a radiologic technologist and/or scrub assistant, performing hemodynamic monitoring and procedural charting. Assists in the care, transportation and preparation of patients.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
- Knowledge of diagnostic radiology principles and procedures as acquired through completion of 2 years training in an approved school of radiologic technology required.
- General computer knowledge.
- Licensed in Radiology by the State of Illinois Division of Nuclear Safety (IEMA)
- Requires Registry from ARRT
- CPR certification required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successful completion of EKG arrhythmia course preferred.
- Successful completion of ACLS preferred.
