Cardiac Catheterization Technologist jobs in Saint Cloud, MN
Cardiac Catheterization Technologist performs diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations and other related procedures. Inserts small catheters through a needle into the blood vessels and into the heart so that X-rays, angiograms and other recordings can be taken to determine the heart's structure and function. Being a Cardiac Catheterization Technologist assist physicians with patient monitoring during surgery or procedures. Documents evaluation results, progress reports, treatment plans and other data using appropriate formats and systems. Additionally, Cardiac Catheterization Technologist some positions may require additional certifications such as: Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES). Requires an associate degree. Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Requires Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS). Typically requires State License. Typically reports to a manager. Cardiac Catheterization Technologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. Job Summary:
- Communicate and work with staff and physicians to ensure optimum patient care.
- Assist physician during invasive or interventional or special vascular imaging or surgical procedures, by circulating, scrubbing or monitoring during these specialized cases.
- Administer medications used in Cardiac Cath Lab/EP Lab and monitors for outdates, counts, availability and restock.
- Monitor equipment used in nursing care in Cardiac Cath Lab and EP Lab for accuracy and proper functioning.
- Maintain accurate and concise records for each patient and assists in teaching documentation to the cardiovascular staff.
- Operate and maintain cardiovascular monitoring equipment.
Position Details:
- Full-time working 72-80 hours every two weeks
- Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
- On-Call once/week and every 4th weekend and holiday
Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program required
- Current Minnesota RN License required
- BSN or MSN preferred
- BSN or higher required within 36 months of being hired
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card required
- I.V. Certification required
- Job knowledge and competency in critical care or emergency room nursing
- Demonstrates skill of leadership, communication and clinical expertise
- One year experience in Cardiac Cath Lab of comparable size preferred
