Cardiac Catheterization Technologist jobs in Savannah, GA
Cardiac Catheterization Technologist performs diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations and other related procedures. Inserts small catheters through a needle into the blood vessels and into the heart so that X-rays, angiograms and other recordings can be taken to determine the heart's structure and function. Being a Cardiac Catheterization Technologist assist physicians with patient monitoring during surgery or procedures. Documents evaluation results, progress reports, treatment plans and other data using appropriate formats and systems. Additionally, Cardiac Catheterization Technologist some positions may require additional certifications such as: Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES). Requires an associate degree. Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Requires Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS). Typically requires State License. Typically reports to a manager. Cardiac Catheterization Technologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. Position Summary

Core Job Functions
- Demonstrates knowledge and skill to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the patient being served. Demonstrates principles of growth and development appropriate to the patient populations served. Coordinates patient care needs with team members and other appropriate departments.
- Performs transthoracic echocardiograms, assists physician with stress testing and transesophogeal echocardiograms in accordance with IAC and lab standards.
- Troubleshoots daily department workflow processes and issues.
- Maintains and stocks equipment. Ensures equipment is properly maintained and serviced through biomed when necessary.
- Routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment is performed in accordance with manufacturer recommendation and department policy. Work orders involving equipment are entered promptly into the system. Staff education regarding care and operation of equipment is conducted annually and documented as needed.
- National certification/registry is maintained. Competency in the use of all department equipment and performance of all department procedures is demonstrated.
- Meets or exceeds department TAT goals for testing. Enters charges as instructed for all tests performed. Maintains log of individual work completed.
