Cardiac Technician operates heart/lung machines and related laboratory apparatus as well as physiological pressure monitoring systems. Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department, regarding individualized treatment plans, evaluation results, and progress reports. Being a Cardiac Technician may require an associate degree or its equivalent. Also may require completion of a certificate in health technology or scientific instrumentation in electrocardiography. Additionally, Cardiac Technician typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Cardiac Technician's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     Position Summary

    Performs Echocardiogram, Stress Echocardiograms, assists in Transesophageal Echocardiograms, and prepares and reviews all test results and clerical duties. Provides service to patients throughout the life span including newborns, children, adolescents, adults and geriatric age groups.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

      • Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
      • Minimum Experience: Must be able to perform echocardiograms and stress echocardiograms. Understanding of medical terminology, human physiology and anatomy desired. Pediatric experience strongly preferred.
      • Certification/Licensure: Must be CPR certified. Must be RDCS certified. If a new graduate, must be eligible to take the ARDMS and CCI.
