Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department, regarding individualized treatment plans, evaluation results, and progress reports. Being a Cardiac Technician may require an associate degree or its equivalent. Also may require completion of a certificate in health technology or scientific instrumentation in electrocardiography. Additionally, Cardiac Technician typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Cardiac Technician's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. The Cardiac Sonographer is a highly specialized technologist who is proficient in the use of complex ultrasound imaging equipment to produce high quality images for diagnostic purposes. · Perform echocardiograms on assigned patient population in the department: including stress echocardiograms · Performs contrast and agitated saline studies as required · Removes IV used for agitated saline, LV contrast studies and nuclear studies · Administers IV contrast via IV per protocol · Manage echo schedule, develop preliminary report, process reports · Complies with IAC standards |
