Cardiac Technician operates heart/lung machines and related laboratory apparatus as well as physiological pressure monitoring systems. Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department, regarding individualized treatment plans, evaluation results, and progress reports. Being a Cardiac Technician may require an associate degree or its equivalent. Also may require completion of a certificate in health technology or scientific instrumentation in electrocardiography. Additionally, Cardiac Technician typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Cardiac Technician's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. ATTRIBUTES
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
One (1) year of experience in a Medical Office setting or Hospital setting.
CCT/Rhythm recognition/telemetry experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Cardiac Testing. Performs EKG and Holter monitor application. Explains procedures to patients and instructs patients regarding holter process and return of equipment.
Documentation. Ensure concise, pertinent and complete documentation using computerized medical record process. Completes appropriate charge entry for cardiology testing.
Preparation. Prepares procedure rooms and equipment prior to and post procedure ensuring adequate supplies available throughout shift. Notifies responsible staff to order additional supplies when necessary.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
PAY RANGE: $18.25 - $25.00
