Summary:
Under the supervision of the Cardiac Rehab Lead and Manager, is responsible for completing necessary requisitions and performing clerical and receptionist duties, assisting participants with exercise equipment, maintaining contact with waiting patients and other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
a. Utilizes customer friendly telephone skills exhibited by friendly greeting, modulated voice and calm demeanor. b. Demonstrates welcoming atmosphere, exhibited by rapid response to inquiries, direct eye contact, appropriate facial expressions. Responsibilities a. Enters charges in the computer system (100%) b. Prepares new admission packets and other records, forms, or unit requirements c. Arranges consults as directed d. Obtains prior medical records when requested e. Graduate calls with follow-up survey f. Enters orders in the computer system timely and accurately g. Prepares patient charts and other records, forms or unit requirements h. Participates in unit quality indicator tracking as requested per Cardiopulmonary Director i. Maintains a neat, organized workspace j. Assists with staffing when assigned by Cardiac Rehabilitation Clinic Therapist k. Transports supplies and information to other departments as needed Cardiac Rehabilitation Specific a. Assists with monitoring telemetry rhythms and is able to quickly identify serious arrhythmias and report same to charge nurse (applicable after Basic Rhythm Recognition Course. b. Ensures telemetry patients are recorded and assists staff with printing reports with non-event patients c. Completes registration process, start date and establish patient account d. Enters charges per patient into Meditech system e. Demonstrates correct telemetry placement and assist patient in telemetry application f. Notifies staff of abnormal vital signs and patient signs and symptoms prior to and during exercise g Demonstrates knowledge of patient specific target heart rate and notify staff if patent exceeds target heart rate (THR). h. Documents and demonstrates use of "Perceived excretion scale" and its relationship to patient during exercise. Notify staff immediately of change in patient vital signs and onset of symptoms. i. Notify staff in regard to patient progression of exercise on the equipment based on the relationship between "time' and "work load" j. Demonstrates the operation (set-up) of equipment specific to patent's program k. Documents data on patient flow sheets.
