Title: Clinical Practice Educator- Cardio- Pulmonary Rehab-RN
Reporting Relationship: Chief Nursing Officer
General Summary of Responsibilities: General Summary of Responsibilities: Clinical Practice Educator-RN is an experienced acute care registered nurse with innovative problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, effective leadership skills, current clinical skills, and expertise in a broad range of areas. The position works a flexible schedule to accommodate all shifts and is supportive of the hospital nursing staff in all departments. Works collaboratively with the Nursing Management team to provide staff competency information/training. Works with Nursing Management to perform initial orientation of nursing staff and annual education that is required by The Joint Commission. Teaches BLS to BBGH employees. Helps coordinate the nurse residency program. The Clinical Practice Educator-RN will help update policy and procedures in the nursing division. The Clinical Practice Educator-RN also provides/coordinates care to patients that qualify for cardio/pulmonary rehabilitation in both the clinical and non-clinical settings. This includes those with recent MI, stable angina, coronary angioplasty, coronary bypass, and other cardiac or pulmonary diagnoses. Monitors patients during physical workouts to prevent overexertion and/or injury. Will lead the policy and procedure committee for the nursing division. A 30-day notice is required when employee resigns.
Education:
Required: Graduate of a state approved professional nursing program. Bachelor's Degree in nursing
Preferred: Master’s Degree in nursing, education or related field preferred.
Experience:
Preferred: Acute care experience in a rural setting. Competencies in developing and providing patient and adult staff education. Experience in developing curriculum and supervision and evaluation of staff is preferred.
License/Certifications:
Required: Current Nebraska Registered Nurse License in good standing
Basic Life Support Provider.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
PALS or ENPC
Within 1 year of employment as Nurse Educator
