Cardio-Pulmonary Perfusionist sets up and operates heart/lung machines that support organ function during cardiac surgery or other procedure where circulatory or respiratory function is disrupted. Operates equipment to produce bypass, coronary perfusion, recirculation or partial bypass, or to alter blood temperature, balance, or content. Being a Cardio-Pulmonary Perfusionist requires an advanced degree. Requires a Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) credential. Additionally, Cardio-Pulmonary Perfusionist typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Cardio-Pulmonary Perfusionist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center is the primary teaching hospital for the Dartmouth- Geisel School of Medicine. We are looking for a full time cardiovascular perfusionist to add to our phenomenal team. Experienced perfusionists or new grads with exceptional experience are encouraged to apply. We offer a competitive salary and benefit packages and a relatively low number of after hour call-backs and emergency cases. Our welcoming and cooperative team is hiring for a sixth perfusionist to work with four experienced and pleasant surgeons. Additionally, our exceptional cardiac anesthesia team, PA’s, and RN’s collaborate to treat the largest geographical region in New England. Case load includes CABG, valves, aortic work, standby for TAVR and lead extractions, occasional AngioVac, with no transplant or VAD cases. Our multidisciplinary ECMO team handles 10-15 ECMO per year with RT’s doing the majority of bedside coverage and the perfusion team managing initiations, daily rounding, and occasional transport.
