Cardiology Director leads and directs the staff and programs of the cardiology department. Works closely with hospital staff and physicians to implement standards for patient care that comply with all laws and regulations. Being a Cardiology Director ensures the department meets the current needs and addresses the future needs of patients by introducing new technologies, services, and procedures. This position does not require MD. Additionally, Cardiology Director requires a master's degree. Typically reports to an executive. The Cardiology Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Cardiology Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Job Description
UNC Health Blue Ridge is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner for our cardiology department. This provider will collaborate with physicians with the treatment of clinic and inpatient cardiac patients.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Licensure Requirements
- Completion of an accredited graduate –level Nurse Practitioner Program.
- Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of North Carolina or eligible.
Professional Experience Requirements:
- At least 2 years experience as a FNP in a cariology setting
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
- Demonstrated clinical competency.
- Effective at collaborating with physicians in the treatment of patients
- Manages and assists with inpatient cardiac patients and cardiac labs
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication and strong analytical skills.
- Effective interaction and care of patients
- Documentation of medical records for accurate billing
