Cardiology Director leads and directs the staff and programs of the cardiology department. Works closely with hospital staff and physicians to implement standards for patient care that comply with all laws and regulations. Being a Cardiology Director ensures the department meets the current needs and addresses the future needs of patients by introducing new technologies, services, and procedures. This position does not require MD. Additionally, Cardiology Director requires a master's degree. Typically reports to an executive. The Cardiology Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Cardiology Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     SUMMARY OF POSITION:

    Working as a Cardio Technician (CT) at Penn State Health, you are the literal heart of patient care. Regarding our pediatric patients, the Nyes Road Suite D – Children’s Heart Group is seeking a capable and team-oriented Cardio Tech to join its team. This office will offer you the opportunity to work with the Pediatric population in monitoring cardiac development.

    The hired Cardio Tech will be expected to accomplish a variety of clinical duties that include, but are not limited to: conducting and analyzing EKGs, assembling and monitoring Holter monitors, educating patients on testing and diagnostics, and performing exercise tolerance tests. This office offers growth opportunities, and involvement in quality and safety projects, and requires travel to the Children’s Heart Group outreach sites/MDA (Muscular Dystrophy) clinics for continued duties.

    The ideal Cardio Technician for this position will prioritize teamwork with a pointed patient-first focus. Strong communication and flexibility will allow the CT to be successful with this team. On average, this office sees 70-75 patients per day, so experience in a fast-paced environment is preferable. Come join a team that is making a difference in the future generations of our community!

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • Graduation from a recognized program in non-invasive technology or equivalent required
    • BLS certification (CPR) required within 6 months from employment date

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

    • Eligible for Certified Cardiology Technician exam with Active Certification Status strongly encouraged within two (2) years from employment date
