Cardiology Director leads and directs the staff and programs of the cardiology department. Works closely with hospital staff and physicians to implement standards for patient care that comply with all laws and regulations. Being a Cardiology Director ensures the department meets the current needs and addresses the future needs of patients by introducing new technologies, services, and procedures. This position does not require MD. Additionally, Cardiology Director requires a master's degree. Typically reports to an executive. The Cardiology Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Cardiology Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
    Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. Documents patient care given. Notifies patients of lab and diagnostic test results under the direct supervision of the health care provider.
    Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas.
    Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration. Assists with referrals, prior authorizations and pre-certifications.
    Responsible for calling in/e-scribe medication to pharmacies in accordance with clinic protocol. Triage patient calls and answers questions. Obtains vitals, patient and medication history.
    Provides assistant functions to patients (personal care, ambulation, transports).
    Collects/prepares lab specimens and lab tests including drawing blood

    JOB REQUIREMENTS
    Minimum EducationX High school diploma or equivalent X Required (A license or certification in the discipline will meet this requirement.)
    X Graduate of a Program in Discipline X Required (A license or certification in the discipline will meet this requirement.)
    Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Ability to quickly learn how to navigate multiple complex software systems.Must be able to communicate with the ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
    Certifications:X Basic Life Support (BLS) (within 60 days of hire)
    Licenses:Graduate of a Medical Assisting ProgramCredentialed through the Certifying Board (CB) of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or The National Healthcare Association (NHA)Successful completion of Skills Competency Checklist
    Minimum Work ExperienceOne year previous clinical experience X Preferred
