Cardiology Director leads and directs the staff and programs of the cardiology department. Works closely with hospital staff and physicians to implement standards for patient care that comply with all laws and regulations. Being a Cardiology Director ensures the department meets the current needs and addresses the future needs of patients by introducing new technologies, services, and procedures. This position does not require MD. Additionally, Cardiology Director requires a master's degree. Typically reports to an executive. The Cardiology Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Cardiology Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. The Medical Assistant is accountable for assisting physicians with patient care according to the Medical Board of California relating to Medical Assistants. Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from Sansum Clinic services. May be assigned to a specific medical specialty (e.g., podiatry) to help with patient care related to that specialty. This position requires a Medical Assistant Certificate, graduate from an EMT program or CNA certification.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Completion of an acceptable Medical Assistant Certification Training Program. Certification through a Board approved agency is preferred; i.e. American Association of Medical Assistants (AMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), California Certifying Board of Medical Assistants (CMAA), Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA). Note: Those who have graduated from an EMT program may also be considered.
Current CPR certification/Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or dually certified in both AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support and AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support at time of hire is required and non negotiable.
