Cardiology Director leads and directs the staff and programs of the cardiology department. Works closely with hospital staff and physicians to implement standards for patient care that comply with all laws and regulations. Being a Cardiology Director ensures the department meets the current needs and addresses the future needs of patients by introducing new technologies, services, and procedures. This position does not require MD. Additionally, Cardiology Director requires a master's degree. Typically reports to an executive. The Cardiology Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Cardiology Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. This position works with the Cardiology healthcare team to provide direct patient care and instruct medical students and residents in the discipline of Cardiovascular Medicine. It also participates in conferences as well as conducts and develops research grants and proposals.
Education/experience/licensing:
MD or equivalent required; successful completion of internal medicine; board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Internal Medicine; current licensure in the State of Ohio required, prior to beginning the position.
Communication and other skills:
Ability to successfully teach and mentor medical students, residents and fellows.
Experience
collaborating with specialists to explore patient health conditions and
diagnose health issues.
Experience working in a team of healthcare
professionals and collaborating with them to ensure positive, effective
patient experiences with our organization.
Excellent
communication and inter-personal skills.
This position works in a professional clinical and academic office setting.
