Registered Nurse (RN) for Cardiac Testing department.

Central New York Cardiology is a busy 16-Physician Cardiology practice located in Utica, NY, currently seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to work in the Nuclear Testing Department.

License: Active and Unrestricted – RN License Required (NY)

Job type: Full-Time - Day- shift (no weekends, no on-call)

Location: Office environment – multisite– primary sites are Oneida and Utica

Shift: Utica Office – Monday / Friday 8-4:30 (some flexibility)

         Oneida Office – Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday 8-4:30 (limited flexibility)

Experience:

• IV and/or Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Two to three years of acute patient care experience preferred.
• BLS/ACLS Required - will train.

Remote work: No

Responsibilities:

• Provide patient care which includes initial assessment, set up, assessment and monitoring throughout stress testing procedures – including EKG monitoring.
• Provide education and ensure patient understanding at initiation of test
• Report any abnormalities to interpreting cardiologist
• Complete documentation in EMR for interpreting cardiologist
• Demonstrates proficiency in establishing intravenous lines
• Administers drugs using various routes according to appropriate
• Ability to problem solve and work independently and with the team
• Demonstrates proficiency in all department equipment required to perform job functions including but not limited to stress equipment, IV pumps, EMR and computer system.
• Order supplies for department/office

Physical requirements: Frequent stand/walk. Occasional sit, lift, push/pull carry up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Up to 10 lbs. frequently.

Exposures: Generalized public exposed to possible sick patients and caregivers, radiation exposure – controlled with monitoring, and blood and body fluid exposure –blood borne pathogens.

Salary: $56,160.00 - $66,560.00 per year
