Performs clinical and administrative duties in support of assigned area or office at a proficient level and independent of supervision. Acts a subject matter expert for other MAs. Makes recommendations to improve programs, products, processes or services.

Responsibilities:
Under the direction and supervision of a provider or nurse: leads huddles, identifies transitions of care, updates Advance Directive information and completes PHQ2 and PHQ9 when indicated during the rooming process. Participates in motivational interviewing and techniques of self-management support (goal setting and patient readiness to change). Manages patient expectations and is able to resolve patient concerns independently.
Sets up and supports providers with procedures. Performs high level disinfection. Provides in-basket management support for providers .Assumes formal role as preceptor to onboard new hire MA’s. Assists with traces and regulatory readiness.
Lends experience and expertise to other team members. Leads others to solve complex problems. Identifies and recommends ways to eliminate waste and inefficiencies in the practice. Serves as an EPIC change agent and embeds EPIC functionality into practice work flows to maximize efficiency.
On an annual basis participates on a practice committee. Completes preceptor training. Attends 1 customer service training session or 1 leadership training session from a list of courses identified by practice leadership. Provides one annual in-service to team members on a topic mutually agreed upon with practice manager.
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements:
Minimum Experience: 3 years of Medical Assistant experience OR graduate of an accredited medical assistant program.
The pay range for this position is: $20.26 - $26.34 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
