Cardiology Manager manages the cardiology department services and staff. Ensures efficient and effective departmental operations, including quality control, patient safety and regulatory compliance. Being a Cardiology Manager implements strategies and programs to deliver new technologies and services and to enhance the level of care available to patients. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Cardiology Manager typically reports to a director. The Cardiology Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Cardiology Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. This hospital specifically has 240 patient beds, as well as a highly recognized Level III Trauma Center providing healthcare for the Four Corners region of New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah.
Reporting directly up to the Director of Cardiology Services, the Cardiology Unit Manager has a big set of responsibilities within the department. With multiple assistant RN's, a Supervisor, and several staff level RN's, the Manager has a lot of support. Some responsibilities may include;
- Take charge in overseeing care provided by all staff and ensuring that it is safe and up to hospital standards
- Meet with other department leaders regarding important hospital matters
- Keeping up to date with the best practices and be sure that they follow hospital guidelines
- Develop staff members through education and quality improvement initiatives
At least 5 years or prior nursing experience and an active nursing license in the sate of New Mexico is required for consideration at this time.
