Cardiology Supervisor supervises daily operations within the cardiology department. Monitors the work of staff members and ensures quality of tests, procedures, and other aspects of patient care. Being a Cardiology Supervisor typically requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Additionally, Cardiology Supervisor may require licensure or certification in an area of specialty. The Cardiology Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes.     The RN’s primary role is to provide personalized patient care; support the provider’s practice by performing clinical duties and assisting in the coordination of patient care.  The RN’s communication, conduct and performance should support the clinics efforts. 

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Documents patient information in the electronic health record (EPIC) following standard work guidelines
    • Assesses and triages patient care needs.  Suggests solutions to patient care problems & complaints
    • Identifies & recommends solutions to departmental problems
    • Assists in assessing departmental function and productivity & recommends changes as necessary
    • Assesses patient/family learning needs and coordinates and carries out teaching plan
    • Coordinates care for Heart Failure and general cardiology patients including telephone triage, advising and consultation with patients, nurse managed care coordination, patient/family education, and in office cardiovascular procedures
    • Coordinates care across the continuum for specialty services internally and externally to manage heart failure complex care
    • Manages care coordination with cardiomems patients and vendor representatives
    • Demonstrates ability to carry out skills as outlined in nursing procedures for clinical areas worked including administration of prescribed medications & treatments in accordance with nursing standards and clinic policy
    • Promotes positive, constructive approach to problem solving

    Required Qualifications:

    • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
    • Active Registered Nurse license through the Washington State Department of Health
    • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers (AHA) or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (American Red Cross)
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • BSN
    • 1 years of experience working as a Registered Nurse
    • 1 years of experience in telemetry or cardiac care
    • 1 years of experience in nephrology or dialysis

    Washington Residents Only: The hourly range for Washington residents is $28.03 to $54.95 per hour.
