Allen County Cardiology is looking for a Medical Assistant to work in our busy practice. Candidate must be personable and friendly, detail-oriented, exceptional communication and customer service skills. In addition, the candidate must have the ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow, ability to take initiative and work independently when necessary, able to multi-task, ability to work with a variety of patients and healthcare professionals, respectful and trustworthy to handle confident patient information. They must also present themselves professionally.

Must have High school diploma, completion of a Medical Assisting program, some college preferred. Some traveling to other office locations will be required.

Job duties include the following:

• Verifying patient information and confirming purpose of the visit
• Recording past, family, social, and medical history
• Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature.
• Carrying out electrocardiograms (EKGs)
• Explaining medical procedures to patients
• Assisting physicians
• Performing diagnostic and laboratory tests
• Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed and available in patients’ medical records prior to their appointment
• Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies
• Taking telephone messages to provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls
• All other duties as assigned by office manager
