We are currently seeking a Lead Medical Biller with a specialization in cardiology and a strong background in Medicare, adept with E Clinical Works, and proficient in managing electronic payments. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of medical insurance policies and practices, along with experience in balancing patient accounts. This role offers the opportunity for advancement and additional responsibilities within our organization.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize expertise in cardiology billing to prepare and submit accurate billing data and medical claims to insurance companies.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of patient medical information, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
- Prepare detailed bills and invoices, documenting all relevant amounts for medical procedures and services provided.
- Oversee all aspects of accounts receivable, including monitoring and recording late payments, following up on missed payments, and resolving financial discrepancies.
- Investigate and appeal denied claims, leveraging comprehensive understanding of Medicare and other insurance compensation protocols.
- Provide weekly reports on accounts receivable metrics, highlighting areas for improvement and strategies for optimization.
- Assist patients in developing payment plans and address inquiries related to their account balances.
- Maintain billing software, including updating rate changes, managing cash spreadsheets, and generating current collection reports.
- Manage AR Aging daily, prioritizing tasks and ensuring timely resolution of outstanding balances.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a medical biller in a professional setting, with specific experience in cardiology billing preferred not mandatory.
- Strong understanding of billing software and electronic medical records, with proficiency in E Clinical Works and daily reporting of AR Aging
- Ability to multitask effectively and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
