Cardiology Supervisor supervises daily operations within the cardiology department. Monitors the work of staff members and ensures quality of tests, procedures, and other aspects of patient care. Being a Cardiology Supervisor typically requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Additionally, Cardiology Supervisor may require licensure or certification in an area of specialty. The Cardiology Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes.     Our patients receive comprehensive medical services through our robust Medical Group of more than 330 employed providers, including 20 specialties and advanced practice practitioners.     Background/Expertise:

    Education:

    • Board Certification in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
    • Board certification in Cardiovascular Medicine, or board admissible and certification must be achieved within 5 years of employment start date.
    • Board Certification in echocardiography or additional certification in nuclear cardiology preferable.


    Experience:

    • 1 to 3 years of experience as a practicing Cardiologist required.
    • Proven experience working in a hospitalist or inpatient cardiology setting preferred.
    • Able to demonstrate adequate patient volumes for procedures in accordance with the Cardiology privilege form via the Salem Hospital Medical Staff credentialing and privileging process.


    Licenses/Cert/Registration:

    • Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Oregon.
    • Current valid, unrestricted DEA certification with and Oregon address by commencement of employment.
    • Maintain current American Heart Association ACLS certification


    Special knowledge/skills/abilities:

    • Knowledge of Lean methodology highly preferred.
    • Strong clinical skills in diagnosing and managing a wide range of cardiac conditions.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment.
    • Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care and maintaining patient confidentiality.
