Position Details:
Dates: This is a full-time position for 8 weeks from June 3rd - July 26th
Hours: (7:15 am to 4:30 pm) or (8:30 am to 5:30 pm).
Location: 1019 Garden Valley Lane, Columbia, South Carolina 29210
Responsibilities:
- Lead small or large groups on crafts, swimming, family night, and various other camp exercises
- Monitor campers to identify and respond to unruly behavior or deviations from camp guidelines
- Advise Camp Director when to contact parents to relay information regarding the children’s camp experience and behavior
- Maintain accurate record of camp activities and data such as attendance logs and incident reports
- Act as a role model for campers in activities which require cleanliness, punctuality, and sportsmanship
- Able to execute plans for daily activities that are given from the Camp Director
- Mediate disputes or conflicts between campers to ensure a peaceful environment
- Participate in singing, storytelling, and sporting activities
- Mentor and tutor children on academic/social topics such as behavior management, reading, peer pressure.
Qualifications:
- Age: 18
- Must be very dependable
- Must have a positive attitude and have a genuine enthusiasm for working with children.
- Must be flexible and willing to learn new skills.
- Because the camp work with children, the applicant must be able to pass a background check.
