Job Functions:

• Provide academic advisement, degree planning, to new first-time freshmen, first-time transfers, and readmit students in the CTE programs.  Track and assess academic progress using tracking software and follow-up with the assigned student caseload.  
• Provides high-quality enrollment support and coaching that is designed to meet the needs of career and technical education students entering or returning to the College.   Facilitates individual and/or group counseling to help students in the CTE programs make satisfactory progress towards completion of academic degree or program with the ability to monitor multiple student cases simultaneously.
• Manage and implement workshops. Using technologies and reports provided by leadership, identifies and intervenes with CTE advisees. Where necessary, connects with faculty to determine strategies or to gain additional context.  Submits weekly caseload management data as requested by leadership. Collaborate with Student Affairs and Academic Affairs.
• Maintains communication with student services and academic department leadership for the initial and continued understanding of program curriculum changes. Accurately refers students to the department as needed for faculty connections, curriculum/degree exceptions, graduation clearance, etc. As appropriate, share programmatic insights and understandings with other Academic and Career Advisors. Maintains knowledge of institutional changes such as admissions requirements, new programs, course changes, deadlines, facilities, college-wide initiatives, and other requirements.
• Stays abreast of and adheres to college policies and procedures, particularly FERPA requirements.  Attend professional development sessions related to student services, academic departments or other college divisions as needed.
• Represent Academic and Career Advising at Student Services events.  Performs all other duties as assigned.
